I am the second owner of this pre-amp. This was the middle child of the Musical Surroundings line when purchased. Per the shop where I purchased, the first owner returned this after about a week and upgraded to the SuperNova phono pre-amp.
This unit has two internal rechargable batteries, allowing you to run the unit on battery power while listening. My opinion is that this does improve sound quality.
