Pair of Classe CA-M400 monoblocks. Original owner, purchased new in 2007, in excellent condition. All original accompanying materials provided (manuals, power cords, boxes).
I used these amps in a home theater system along with a Classe CA-5200 5-channel amp and SSP-800 preamp/surround processor. I am selling everything because I have moved and no longer have the space; I have recently purchased from Audiogon sellers a Spectral DMA-150 amp and DMC-12 preamp, focusing just on playing vinyl.
Original price for the monoblocks was $5,000/apiece; other components were purchased in 2010 for $8,100 for the SSP-800, $5,900 for the CA-5200. So that's $24,000 for everything; I will take $10,000 for the lot. Asking somewhat more if pieces purchased individually.
For specs, see photo from manual. Some reviews: http://www.hifiplus.com/articles/the-classe-ca-m400-mono-blocs/ https://hometheaterreview.com/classe-audio-ca-m400-mono-amplifier-reviewed-1/
The monoblocks weigh 82 lbs. each, shipping weight 94 lbs. Buyer to pay shipping and PayPal fees.
Questions for the seller |
---|
What is the input impedance through the XLR inputs?
Thanks. I actually do not know, it is not mentioned anywhere in the manual. I used these amps with the Classe SSP-800, so it was never an issue for me.
I found this on an old review at http://6moons.com/audioreviews/classe/monos.html: "Oddly, input impedance – crucial for proper preamplifier matching – is not specified either on the website or the otherwise very informative instruction manual where mention is made of their easily-driven input stage."
According to a review of the CA-M600 on Stereophile, "Input impedance: 50k ohms balanced and unbalanced." So maybe the 400's are the same. |
