| Do you need a Sooloos “core” to make this work? I’ve looked around the internet and have not found an answer.
I’m not interested in purchasing other Meridian or Roon pieces. How were you using it? No you don't need a Meridian Sooloos Core.
You can use a Roon instead. It works much better. But you would setup a Roon Core.
You can also just use it as a DAC, by connecting a digital source directly to it. |
| I’d like to use a NAS for music storage and an iPad for control. Similar to how other renderers work. To wirelessly send music to the MS600 over the network, you need to use Roon.
That is what I use. Its the best software for managing your music locally on a NAS or integrating streaming from TIDAL and QOBUZ. |
| i don't think we can connect an external digital source like mentioned in the Q/A. The only source option is over the network - Roon or Sooloos. See http://www.meridian-support.com/datasheets/MS600-ds.pdf I double checked, you are correct. You can only stream to the MS600 via Roon or Sooloos.
No external digital source.
