Bryston BIT 20 Power Conditioner/Iso Transformer

Superb power conditioner and isolation transformer unit by Bryston, consisting of a truly enormous low-noise toroidal transformer (see picture) in conjunction with series-mode surge suppression that does not use sacrificial MOVs. I have two of these beasts, but now that I've simplified my system, one is all that is required. And by required, I mean that the BIT 20 doesn't simply reduce noise, it also is a powerfully positive factor in better sound production. The gigantic 20-amp toroid stores energy as well as isolating the connected components, resulting in a dramatic uptick in dynamics and clarity. This was actually a surprise for me, I bought the original unit simply to get rid of ground-loop hum from separate audio and video systems connected to separate AC lines, but was stunned to also note an obvious uptick in the bass and projection of images. Win-win! In fact, so pleased was I at the enhanced sound quality that I bought the second unit as well.
This unit is in excellent condition, and were I the first owner would undoubtedly rate a "9". Box/packing, owner manual and two power cords (straight blade and right-angle) are included. Note! This component is heavy, and will require a shelf or stand that can handle it's 93-pound weight. Noise and heat have not been an issue (it is rated at NC-10, which is pretty darn close to dead silent), simply the weight involved, so don't set it on your Louis IVth furniture! This unit was set inside a cabinet with front doors and a semi-open back, and was just fine. My use has always been in a dedicated smoke-and pet-free environ, and the previous owner was also smoke-free. Included shipping is to the lower 48, Ground, and a signature will be required.
