New Crimson. Great cartridge and an excellent performer. Energetic but delivers delicacy when required. Powerful bass. Wonderful textures. Strong output places much less demands on the phonostage. Even lower end phonostages let the Crimson thrive.
One of the few cartridges that has a VERY reasonable stylus replacement cost if the "cleaning lady" should strike:)
I firmly believe the Crimson offers the BEST values or "bang for the buck" of any new cartridge today.
Per a request, I added a few pictures of some of my v. d. Hul cartridge inventory. I have even more that didn't get a picture. Different Colibri after Colibri and even a new good ole' Frog!
I was a dealer for the US distributor before AJ pulled the franchise from him and gave it to VPI.
