SHERWOOD S-8000 TUBE AMPLIFIER 1959 - AMAZING CONDITION!

This is the extremely rare, legendary 1959 Sherwood S-8000, the ORIGINAL S-8000!  Serial Number 811100. This unit is in AMAZING condition for 62 years old.  Built on a polished copper chassis, this receiver was built to last....forever!  All original tubes.  Don’t be fooled by the 32 Watts per channel, this amp drives my Klipsch Belles and could clear out the neighborhood at half volume with no effort. An overall amazing receiver in overall amazing condition for 62 years old. Everything works and is in exceptional overall condition considering its age. The dial lamps are working as are the red, green and yellow indicator lamps. "With every performance capability of a separate tuner and amplifier, Sherwood’s "new" S-8000 FM Stereo Receiver is rapidly becoming one of the industry’s most popular high-fidelity components.

This unit contains all of the electronics for a complete home music system on a single compact chassis. The S-8000 features two 32-watt amplifiers, complete with dual preamplifiers for phono and tape plus a highly sensitive FM tuner. 

The Model S-8000 integrates in one unit all of the important controls and performance features offered separately on any of Sherwood’s FM tuners and stereo amplifiers. The usual concern about heat dissipation from a complex unit of this type has been solved by Sherwood design engineers. In the S-8000, the unique new Novar output tubes have been tilted toward the rear of the chassis so that tube heat is deflected away from other components by Sherwood’s exclusive air-cooled heat baffle."
