McIntosh MA-5100 Integrated Amplifier Just Serviced

Component History...

Purchased from the Original Owner in 2020 he had not used it in quite some time when I hooked it up I knew it needed to be Serviced due to a few lamps being out as well as the left side volume and balance not being at the proper levels . I had it Serviced by Hi-Tech Electronics here in NYC they installed All New White LED Lamps as well as servicing the volume balance issue.

 Cosmetically...

 I rate this MA 5100  7/10 as the photos will show it has some light rust on the chrome top as well as some wear along the top black front just behind the front glass. I gave the entire outside of the component a good cleaning with non abrasive Goo-gone. The glass is in very nice condition with only the slightest of the black decal showing some wear. All the RCA inputs have been treated and cleaned with Deoxit.

Brand New Tall McIntosh Feet have been installed as well a New Double Box with the Special soft Styrofoam Corners for the larger box are included as well. A printed copy of the Manual will be included...

Operationally...

Upon getting this McIntosh MA-5100 from Hi-Tech Electronics I connected an all McIntosh Component System to it a MAC tuner & CD Player along with a Vintage Dual 504 Turntable connected to a number of speaker pairs to assess its performance.

 I put it thru its Audio paces for about two weeks all of the functions & controls performed flawlessly. Both the Treble and Bass Controls are Dual Concentric ,the Original Owner bypassed the Speaker On-Off Rocker control switch. It has a very cool Phase Control which enhances its presence to 180 degrees.

The Amplifier section is rated at 45wpc of McIntosh Power which seems to play as powerful as an Amp twice that power rating. It was given a complete bench check as well the lower left channel volume & balance issue was addressed as to have both channels now having equal stereo channel separation for both controls. All the controls &  component input selector choices are working perfectly. 

How does it Sound ?

 Having owned a number of McIntosh Amplifiers ,Preamps & Receivers this MA-5100 is certainly equal to any that I have owned . The realistic Deep Bass & Treble that this Integrated portrays allows the listener to hear the Music thru the system to the level of the quality of the said connected components. "The McIntosh Soundstage " as I refer to it is one of the Classic Audio experiences one can have for sure. This all Solid State Integrated Amp has a Tube like presentation with effortless Solid State Power.
