Martin Logan ESL-X (piano black) - Purchased May 2021

AS NEW pair of Martin Logan ESL-X in piano black. This pair was delivered to me directly from Martin Logan on May 20, 2021.

The speakers were played intermittently in an audiophile system, and a smoke and pet free environment. The speakers are being sold because they require more space to their sides than I have available in my 11 feet wide room. When positioned on the long wall they are superb, but room use does not permit this placement long term.

The original boxes were discarded. The original manual and accessories are included with your purchase.

NOTE ON PLACEMENT:  Regarding the need for a room with a wider front wall dimension than 11 feet, I have found the ML ESL Xs to need a minimum of 77 inches (inside edges of bass cabinets) apart from each other to achieve the spacing between instruments and soundstage they are capable of. For clarity and focus, the speakers need quite a bit of toe in, which puts the back of each bass bin about 14 inches from its adjacent sidewall in an 11 foot wide room. This proximity (with drywall construction) adds a bit of unwanted midbass reinforcement, and perhaps doesn't allow the sound to expand horizontally in the rear plane quite as much as if the speakers were placed on a wider wall. I believe a 13 foot wide room should be sufficent to ameliorate these issues and allow the ESL Xs to achieve their full potential.
