A rare McCormack TLC-1 Deluxe passive preamp that has been upgraded by Steve McCormack to Rev. A "full monty" status. This has a clear acrylic top which makes it looks awesome and is supposed to have some vibration damping sonic benefits. The Rev A. upgrade is a complete rebuild, including a TKD stepped attenuator volume control, upgraded caps and power supply, and 2 sets of upgraded WBT inputs and outputs, buffered and unbuffered. The upgrade itself was $1300. This is the most transparent sounding passive preamp I have heard and I will be sad to see it go, but I don't use it much anymore so it should go to someone who can appreciate it. I used it in front of an MSB Gold Link Dac (also for sale) and it was perfect. I'm selling only because I am moving to a Benchmark DAC3 which has a volume control so it can feed an amp directly.
The paint on the front is flaking off, but it is otherwise in perfect condition and sounds completely transparent. Buyer pays shipping and paypal fees.
