Bel Canto Design Multi Channel System

Complete BCD multi channel analog system (including cables) with Sony ES digital (input) decoder for the best of both worlds.

For the multi channel purist, play CD, SACD (2 or multi channel), DVD-A or DAD (DVD) on the PL-1a in a (mostly) all analog environment. Once the PL-1a’s DAC’s decode the data it’s analog sailing. The PL-1a offers multi channel analog outputs on RCA connectors and stereo (2-channel) outputs on XLR’s. Both outputs are used to the PRe6. The normal compliment of video outputs also included.

The Sony SDP-9ES decoder has five digital inputs, so sources with digital outputs (CD, DVD, Blue Ray, DVD-A, Tuner [digital], Laserdisc [AC-3 input], etc.), can all be supported regardless of whether it’s for music or movies. The multi channel analog outputs of the Sony decoder feed the second multi channel input on the PRe6.

The PRe6 GEN2 handles input-switching and volume control, all in the analog domain. Inputs can be figured for stereo, 5.1 or 7.1ch. The more multi channel inputs used, the fewer stereo. Outputs are single ended RCA and balanced XLR. The PRe6 has the top of the line Ace Tomato Statement Level upgrade on it. This is a $2500 modification.

The power amp is a six channel eVo6 GEN2. Power as a six channel is 120W/pc into 8 ohms, 240W into 4. As a three channel triple mono unit power is 375w/pc into 8, 700 into 4. Unit can be configured as a 3/4/5/6 channel unit depending on needs. The eVo6 has the Ace Tomato Reference Level upgrade installed. This is a $1250 modification.
