The Alyssa monitor speakers have a very unique shape that is unlike the many typical rectangular monitor speakers. There are no right angle corners (except the base plate) on the speakers and the top plate and its two sides are curved. This has to do with the transmission line design it incorporates into it and the engineering to make it one of the smoothest and most dynamic monitor speakers in the sub-$10,000 category. Its rear ported and ideally should sit on very sturdy 24" stands and placed at least 2 feet away from the back wall and 1.5 feet away from the side walls. Each speaker uses a 2" ribbon tweeter and a 6" woofer to produce a very impressive frequency range of 32 Hz to 47 kHz. The bass and highs are particularly interesting since the bass energy it produces belies its modest size and sounded more like its coming from a floorstander. The highs were crystal clear and smooth with no harshness and with its warm mids, culminated in a very balanced pair of monitor speakers that sounded larger than life. Nominal impedance of the speakers are 4 ohms and sensitivity is 87.5 dB. Speakers love an ample current supply and manufacturer recommends a minimum of 50W to drive them.

Cosmetically, the speakers look very good. Very well cared for by its one original owner. We have the original boxes, spikes and manual. Speakers are shipped in two boxes so factor x2 for total shipping cost.
