Built to typical AR “built like a tank standards”
LS1 Preamp is a tube hybrid preamp
Previously sent to Audio Research where they replaced all of the capacitors, including Wondercaps in the audio path.
Recently serviced at NEI north of Atlanta. Controls cleaned, Tube Bias set, all functions check and tweaked.
Tube is good. I turn off the units after each use to minimize use.
The condition is excellent. There is wear at some of the screws that hold the top cover and tube cage on which is needed to install the tubes. Other than that, excellent, see pictures.
This preamp has great tube sound. Once warmed up, the LS-1 and Classic 60 amp (see other listing) together have that wonderful tube sound that fills the room with a beautiful bloom of music and makes the speakers disappear (depending on speakers of course).
