T+A Elektroakustik S10 Stereo Amplifier with Upgrades! Compare to M40 HV!

This T+A S10 power amplifier is a stereo version precursor of the much more expensive $65K T+A M40 HV mono blocks. This model would easily be listed for $25-30K at current market pricing.

The main differences and advances in the design of the newer M40, beyond them being mono blocks offering higher power, is that the tube stage is revised so they are now only used as an input sub-stage and no longer have to provide voltage amplification, whereas the S10’s tube stage is also used for voltage amplification. The voltage amplification in the M40 HV on the other hand is now done by a high-quality transistor stage in high-voltage technology.

Beyond these differences, the designs and performance levels of these amplifiers are quite similar!

The amplifier offers two modes:

High Current enables the amplifier to perform with 35wpc in pure Class A before switching up to 140wpc in Class AB. This power rating is preserved regardless of impedance. 

High Power mode enables the amplifier to perform with 300wpc of Class AB into 8 Ohm, nearly doubling to 500wpc into 4 Ohm.

I have used this amplifier to power a few speakers, including the Vivid Kaya 90, Borresen 02, and Legacy Signature SE and its incredible performance made each speaker shine.

I am an authorized T+A dealer, but i purchased this unit independently. I am the second owner. This amplifier is in very good condition. There are a few scratches on the top transformer cover, which are largely covered up if you affix the tube cage mechanism to the top. Otherwise the unit is in very good condition.

It is accompanied with both the stock Tung Sol 6SN7 and ElectroHarmonix 12AT7, but it also comes with nominally upgraded tubes including the Linlai Elite E-6SN7 and Psvane 12AT7-S which have less than 200 hours on them. The unit also has four Synergistic Research Orange fuses installed within. 

The amplifier is quite heavy, over 100lbs on its own, and ships securely in a custom-built crate that has a pallet built in. I will arrange for freight delivery anywhere in the CONUS for $300.
