It was used carefully and only few times: at two exhibitions in 2022 and 2023.

The Fidata HFAS1-XS20U is a Japanese network Hi-End Audio Server that was engineered so that you can enjoy high-end audio.
You can see evidence of meticulous, iterative approach from the materials chosen for the chassis to the design of the unit's circuit board and its individual components. This product is the cumulative result of numerous prototypes and countless trial listening sessions.
The result is an exceptional level of audio quality that befits the unit's high-end name, packaged in an impressive chassis from which every hint of waste has been pared.

The Fidata HFAS1-XS20U server is equipped with 2TB internal SSD storage, assembled on the best Samsung SSD drives. It natively plays all available audio files: PCM: 44.1 kHz-768 kHz, 16-32 bit, as well as DSD (dsf and dff) up to 22.5 MHz.

The Fidata server can operate in two modes:
1. As a server (NAS) connected to a network player with a LAN cable. The great advantage of the Fidata server and its versatility is that it can be connected via LAN directly to a network player, bypassing routers and other network components. In this case, the maximum sound quality is ensured.
2. Or as a USB player. This is an option when data is sent from the USB output, which can be connected to any USB DAC with a USB 2.0 or higher input.
The server remote control is very convenient and intuitive with its own Fidata Music App, available for both Android and IOS devices. Also, control is possible through any other DLNA (UPnP) or OpenHome application, such as LINN Kazoo, Taktina, Bubble UpnP, and others.

The main know-how and advantage of this server is the use of the X-Cluster SSD module, developed specifically for this model. Instead of one large SSD, 4 SSDs of 512 GB each are used. The data is evenly distributed between the disks, which are controlled by specially designed software and mechanically decoupled and damped inside a special closed design. This system, called Fidata X-Cluster Storage Technology, allows data to be read evenly from four drives, thereby leveling the load on the power supply, and eliminating current fluctuations that cause jitter and noise.
To take full advantage of this solution, two separate power supplies with dedicated linear voltage regulators with a large array of audiophile output capacitors were used to provide clean, stable and power.

The mechanical design of the server is extremely important to sound quality - hence the complex solutions used at Fidata. The server chassis is a heavy steel anti-resonance chassis 3.2 mm thick, which houses the PCB and power supplies. The careful choice of material and its thickness, from which all panels and top cover are made, is the result of numerous tests. Added to this is the ability to change the configuration of three or four footers, which also affects the sound.

The Fidata server software has several additional features, the most important of which is support for the DIRETTA network protocol. This is a network protocol specially designed for Hi-End Audio applications that dramatically improves the sound quality.
