I am the original owner, purchased in-store demo model. The remote-control light never worked, but everything else is working, the integrated was serviced at Parasound in San Francisco per item 3 below.

Please be aware of the following:

  1. The unit will come packed in original boxes and packing material.

  2. The volume control knob is not linear. It was implemented with "audio taper", which means turning the volume to 50% results in about 25% volume. This is a log scale that is "soft around the center".

  3. This unit was recently repaired under warranty at Parasound for an inoperative subwoofer cutoff frequency switch which was DOA. Didn't find out until I tried to hookup subs, but the subs have a cutoff, so it wasn't needed. The entire unit was checked for correct operation while being serviced at Parasound.

  4. Owner's manual can be found here :https://parasound.com/hint.php

I purchased this unit at a local hifi store (demo model) in 2018 with a full 5-year warranty. The unit stayed in my stereo rack until I recently upgraded to separate components, which is why I am selling. Please note, there is a newer version of this integrated, the one I am selling is the older 2015 model. Both models have the same rated power output.

There are many good reviews of this component on YouTube, with New Record Day and Zero Fidelity being the most accurate in my opinion. Zero Fidelity also reviews the newer model. This integrated can be a good starting point if you are coming from an AV receiver/tuner. I thought the strongest points of the unit were the ESS Sabre DAC and all-around connectivity. The obvious downside of any integrated amplifier is attempting to combine too many functions into a single unit, considered "budget" solutions. But you will need to spend more to get that same functionality in several boxes. The upside is the integrated design should ensure all individual functions work well together.

Both moving magnet and moving coil (with 2 impedances) are supported. There is home theater bypass so you can integrate your 2-channel audio system with a multi-channel AV system.

There is plenty of power on tap that can power many speakers. Make sure to google your speaker choice to get an idea if it will work with this integrated. I can say from experience this integrated will be able to pair nicely with speakers costing many times the price.
