It's designed to enhance the low-frequency performance of a stereo system. Because this was handcrafted in Canada and only a small quantity was imported, it is a rare find with this price.

Both versions are described as "advance analog computers" designed to improve low-frequency performance without a subwoofer, but the different tubes would likely result in a different tonal quality.
