I have two quads of Svetlana Winged C 6550C (8 in total). These were made in the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia, before it closed in 2012. This factory had been making vacuum tubes for almost a century, and these Winged C are the original Svetlana design and construction. Known for rich, warm tones and excellent clarity. I preferred them in my Audio Research Reference 110 over the Tung-Sol 6550 and KT120. The Winged C 6550 is considered by many to be the best 6550 tube available.
All were recently tested on a B&K 747B tester when removed from the Ref 110 with all measuring 80 to 90 where 80 is 100% and 65 is minimum. I don’t have the original boxes but have Tung Sol boxes as shown in the photos.
DISCONTINUED: out of production since 2011.
