Insight Speaker Cable by Matthew Bond Audio
The subject of a rave review in The Absolute Sound, the Insight speaker cable is an affordable state-of-the-art speaker cable using a trio of optimum diameter solid core conductors per run (+/-). The conductors are insulated in Polyester Mica (2 microns), an insulation material exclusive to MB Audio that no polymer material can possibly match. These three conductors are suspended inside three PTFE (Teflon) tubes. A polymer sleeve holds the pair of Teflon tubes together and the finished cable is covered in black mesh.
The sound: Airy, open and three-dimensional with excellent imaging and incredible dynamic contrasts. Notably, the high frequencies are extended, refined and the clarity and sonic images are outstanding. There is no coloration from plastic insulation materials in the mid-range, the sound is completely natural and distortion free.
The conductors for all Matthew Bond Audio cables are made from six-nines (6N) pure copper. The insulation on the conductors is a new technology, called Polyester Mica. Mica is a natural element, a superior dielectric or insulation material, made into a fine powder and mixed with polyester. The poly-mica is exclusive to Matthew Bond Audio and it has no distortion or sonic effect as heard with plastic insulation. PTFE (Teflon) and any plastic insulation/dielectric materials simply do not compare to Polyester Mica.
