MOSCODE 300 TUBE HYBRID/SOLID STATE STEREO AMPLIFIER Moscode 300 Hybrid using tubes on front end.
Nice find in 7/10 to 8/10 condition from a big collectors Audio Estate.
Based on the sound quality, rarity, demand, sound quality and that it is already priced under the market you may want to act quickly as this gem will offer not last. (see attached pictures) :
Specifics :
150WPC hybrid tube amp with 2 6FQ7s and 2 6DJ8s on the input stage and lateral mosfets on the output stage in a hybrid design. I believe the unit is all original.

for the Moscode 300
I have a fully modded (by george kaye) , Moscode 300, and I love it. Years ago some folks chose to chrome plate the top cover, and I have one like that. I'm not a chrome finatic, but it looks nice. My tube compliment is 6gu7's. I found the amperex work best in the outer sockets and I am currently using philips in the inner sockets. Ge, Sylvania, Raytheon, and especially RCA all work great in the inner sockets as well. In the past 2 years I have tested many different amps, some on a loaner basis and some I purchased, ranging from adcom, nad, parasound, B&K, carver, hafler, and some more expensive amps such as modded dynaco, conrad johnson, van alstine, counterpoint, and several others. I have found this moscode 300 to be the best bang for the buck, and the best sounding amp I have heard during this audiophile hobby journey I've been on. I used an adcom gtp-602 and currently use my adcom gfr-700 as my preamp. I'm interested in a classe sooner or later, but I'm one of those guys that needs a remote, so many good soundiong preamps have been passed due to the lack of a remote. I think this amp will be better with a better preamp, but the adcoms really do well, to my surprise. This amp, as modded, is not just a maxi, but in fact, has had all of george's mods done. For those getting the basic mod and the wire mod, I seriously suggest going for the MIT cap mod as well, as this mod open up all potential sound improvements. The sound is clear, crisp, but not fatiguing at all. The soundstage is open, deep, detailed 3 dimensional, but not too forward with the right tube compliment. Like many well balanced systems, this 2 channel rig I'm running sound like surround.... the soundstage is that deep and alive. Sounds are very realistic and accurate, and voices sound like they're in the room. The bass is tight, deep and responsive, while no muddy rumbly overtones at all. This is important to me as I hate muddy boomy loose bass. I don't use high volume often, but when I do, this amp seems to be endless in power. (my speakers are 4ohms). This amp is worthy of good speaker wires and good interconnects, unlike some amps that seem to not be able to take advantage of higher end cables, etc. The real excitement for me is the fact it only cost me $475 , including a George Kaye checkup, and replacement of an old cap that doesn't usually age well, and a new power switch, and a new set of tubes from G. Kaye. I have yet to see one like this, for such a low price. Obviously I stumbled upon a fluke of a deal, and won't find this deal again. I would also suggest not buying tubes that are not tested and matched. I have had great success with the tested matched tubes I bought for it, for tube rolling, and I now have a few dozen tubes of different brands I switch from time to time. If you have an amp like this and live in my area, I'd be happy to stop by with my tubes and let you tube roll your moscode 300 to see what tubes you'd like for your system. I do not sell tubes. I'll let someone use some to test their system,though.
