Selling a used Margules amplifier, which can be used as either a power amp or an integrated amp. One set of RCA inputs, can be run in mono or stereo. Speaker impedance selector switches, can be used with 2, 4, or 8 ohm speakers. No bias control needed, and this amp works with KT88, 6550, KT90, or KT99 power tubes. Uses 4 power tubes and 4 12AU7 input tubes. A unique feature of this amp is that it can be switched from triode to ultralinear modes, which allows the user to change the sound without changing tubes. The triode mode is ideal for the classic tube sound - warm, liquid midrange, typical of tube amplifiers. The ultralinear mode is better for listening to harder rock or those who don't want the tube midrange sound. The amp is rated at 70W, although it plays plenty loud and 70W for a tube amp sounds just as loud as a solid state amp at 150W or so.
The sound of this amp can be changed by switching the input or output tubes for different brands, one of the best features of tube amps. This amp is heavy, weighing in around 65 lbs. A great tube amp for anyone considering trying tubes, as you never need to worry about biasing the tubes. Just plug in the tubes, connect the amp and turn it on. The amp has a soft start with an indicator panel on the front. The panel indicator rises once the tubes are warmed up and the amp is ready to play, about 3 mins after turn on.
