McIntosh MLD-7020 was at the pinnacle of laser disc players and is still praised especially for audio quality when playing CDs. Unit SN 1436 is in very good to excellent condition, with the only flaw being just a single half-inch diameter smudge on top of cabinet at the rear edge, looking a bit like a fingerprint, visible only at certain angles of lighting, but not responding to efforts to wipe away. This version has RF output on rear panel for driving a demodulator to generate AC-3 Dolby Digital Surround audio for coaxial input to a receiver or pre-amplifier. Lexicon's LDD-1 demodulator is optionally available separately, but not listed on Audiogon yet. Unit has been used for less than approximately 100 hours and is fully operational. Bought the two players, shown in one of the photos, new from Clark Music Company, Syracuse, NY in 1995 to be capable of viewing lengthy operas without significant interruption! Shipping box, all packing materials, owner's manual and remote control, all included and in excellent condition! Asking $1300 for SN 1436. The second player, SN 1437, with a few more smudges on top of its cabinet is listed on Audiogon at a slightly lower asking price.
