This unit is a stand alone CD Transport w/ out DAC. This unit should be used with a outboard DAC or Surround Processor such as Meridian or any other Brand.

The 500 MK II Compact Disc Transport incorporates a precision engineered CD turntable and drawer system with disc clamping that is normally associated with top loading players. The transport provides a precision digital output that is re-clocked and uses a very high power 75 ohms amplifier for super low jitter. In order to improve the sound quality and disc playability, Meridian went to the three beam laser CD mechanism for the 500 MK II. The software used for the processor adapts the player to the parameters of each CD. The software is combined with proprietary analog processing system that �de jitters� the data coming from the disc before it is decoded.

The 500 MK II has Comms capability allowing for system integration in a complete Meridian setup.

The Meridian MK II Compact Disc Transport has the following digital outputs (1) S/PDIF, (1) Optical and (1) AES/EBU.
