For sale is my modified VPI HW-19 Mk III subchassis and frame, with custom brass/aluminium armboard for SME tonearm. The subchassis is heavy, stainless steel/acrylic and has been partially modified. 1)Some acrylic around the spindle area was removed, and three new holes were drilled to accommodate a larger flanged bearing housing for an upgraded Mk IV platter and 2) the original armboard was replaced with the custom armboard, which improved the sound considerably in all respects. I believe this armboard alone is easily worth BOTH the price of admission and shipping cost if one decides not to use my subchassis here, but instead their own existing table/arm setup assuming there is an ability to accommodate it. The wooden frame also underwent some modification. Four rubber feet were replaced with three metal feet with adjustable nuts for leveling. Rope caulk is affixed to the inner area of the frame to deaden resonance. The frame also has a relatively new on/off switch(2 years old)which was purchased from VPI. ***Please note: NO PARTS ARE SUPPLIED EXCEPT THE SCREWS, NUTS, AND WASHERS THAT PERMIT THE ARMBOARD AND TONEARM TO BE AFFIXED. Everything is offered "as is".*** Parts will be securely packaged. No Paypal fee. Buyer pays shipping/insurance.
