Modwright Oppo BDP-83 Universal Player

This player was sent direct from the factory to be modified. It has the L/R Stereo mod along with the Front L/R and Center channel on the multichannel array. I opted for a "wall of sound" across the front and was not concerned about rear channels when listening in multichannel surround mode to Super Audio CD's. Original cost was $1,150 for the modification (copy of invoice available), plus the machine $500, for a total cost of $1,650. It replaced a Sony XA5400ES (stock). Check the MW website, and you'll see these same mods are still being performed as part of MW current offering. It's one of the solid state alternatives to the pricier tube modifications.

Comment from MW website: "Others are ‘modifying’ the player with upgraded connectors and parts, but few are re-engineering the analog stage and upgrading the power supplies the way that we are. When we get done, you will have a TRUE UNIVERSAL player with stereo and (7) out of 7.1 channels all upgraded with our proprietary discrete analog stage circuit featuring zero global feedback and NO op-amps. All analog stage circuits will be fed via our own internal dedicated power supply.
The sound is open and resolving and the bass is rock solid!"

Machine works great and has no issues whatsoever. 8/10 is conservative rating. Price includes shipping via UPS Ground, with NO PayPal add-on fee. In the process of making a few changes, so please check my other listings.
