I replaced my fine-sounding VCC-1 with a Revel C208 last summer, and it's time to get it our of my musicroom.  First, it's in at-least-good condition, with no obvious scratches or marks.  I built the stand you see; it'll be attached to the speaker unless the purchaser doesn't want it or doesn't want it attached. (It's screwed, not glued, on, and it's spiked, included.)  The sound quality has been improved substantially by removing some caps and replacing others. Vandersteen calls this a 'voice center-channel speaker', and what he means is that the system produces little low frequencies to obfuscate the dialog.  One way he does that is by using a huge capacitor as a high-pass filter in series with the 'bass'/MR portion of the coaxial driver; there's another that's switchable in as the 'Proximity' filter.  I removed the former filter, thereby increasing slightly the lower-frequency output but more importantly eliminating the grunge produced by the cheap electrolytic caps he used.  I also replaced the tweeter-filter caps with better ones.  Also, Richard included a tuning network that reduced an upper-MR hump.  After stumbling into the purpose of that network by leaving it out while working on it, I installed a switch in it that eliminates its affect on the sound; the handle of that switch is visible in one of the pics in the speaker's rear-lower-left.  Switch down = 'flat' responce; switch up = increased upper-MR (presence) output, increasing voice intelligibility.  The system does its job excellently, but if you want a 'full-range' CC speaker, don't buy any VCC-1.  If the buyer does not want the stand, the speaker will be shipped in its original carton.  If you want the stand, it'll ship the combination in a custom, large carton for $50, not the $40 for that speaker only.  Included will be a custom-wound, multiple-gage, solid-silver-conductors speakercable 22" long which will be useful if you're using am amp close to the speaker.  PayPal MUCH preferred for speed of total transaction; I absorb the fee.
