FS: Wilson Watt Series III (1 pair). The Series III Watt are similar to the version Dave Wilson used to monitor and voice his famous recordings. These have the lite coned SEAS woofer, fiberglass-domed Focal tweeter and the optional--and rare--end panels (Zebrano wood). The Series III was the final version to feature these special drivers, later iterations used a heavy pulp woofer and metal dome tweeters. This pair came from a prestigious collection and were among the first 100 pairs made. They have seen very little use as confirmed by the estate and they're all original. The drivers are in terrific shape and the foam gaskets on the front baffle still look new. One speaker has a superficial scratch that runs horizontally across the bottom edge and barely grazes the veneer on one end panel (pictured).
The Series III Watt predates the Puppy and were often paired with Entec subwoofers. They have an uncanny ability to resolve fine detail/texture and possess a purity that rivals the Quad ESL 57 in that respect. Included is the original printed installation guide with Dave's hand-drawn illustrations for getting the most of the Watt. Once properly set-up, the imaging is truly holographic and as good as it gets. The Absolute Sound hailed the early Watt as one of the most important speakers of all-time, this is a rare opportunity to own early Watts in this condition with the optional wood side panels and consecutive serial numbers from a one-owner collection. I don't have the original foam grill but Jerrod at Wilson audio can sell you a new pair for ~$90.
I also have a single Wilson Audio Gibralter stand made specifically for the Watt (pictured). Its serial number 1, how cool is that! I will include this item for free for the first offer at my asking price. Please note i have JUST ONE stand. I would pefer a local sale, but I can ship them anywhere in the world if you send me the factory crates for the Watt speaker. These little guys are heavy and I really don't want to deal with providing boxes.
