Bill Flannery worked for Sunfire (Bob Carver) for many years, in fact he's the only one currently doing Sunfire repairs that has actually worked for Sunfire. Since Mr Carver closed his repair facility last August, ("Bob Carver's Audio Repair", formerly "Rita's Vintage Audio,") Bill has set up his own shop "Flannery's Vintage Audio" (with Mr. Carver's and Sunfire's full blessing) and is now servicing all out of warranty Sunifre products. If you have a Sunfire Ultimate Receiver I or II, Theater Grand Processor III, IV or 5, a stereo or multi-channel amplifier, True subwoofer, MK-II, MK-IV or Signature plate amp that needs repair, updated or would just like to have it refreshed, you can contact Bill at [filtered] or go to his website: [filtered]

Questions for the seller
Good evening! Quick question that may sound kind of stupid. I have been running a Carver AV-705X (125 x 5) for many years and it has served me well. I listen to a lot of music along with my movies. How does this amplifier sound with music? Thanks!
Of course opinions vary but I find the Sunfire's to be much more musical than the Carver's. The 705 is a great, clean sounding amplifier but when compared to the Sunfire it seems flat and lacking high end response. Obviously the 400x5 is going to have substantially more power and headroom as well. I was actually running a 760x when I got my first 400x5 and I just couldn't believe the highs I was hearing come through that just weren't there with the Carver. Mids are also very sweet with the Sunfire and well pronounced. I think when they made the THX Carver's they kind of took the life out of them. I guess it works well with movies but they sound kind of flat for music. Hope this helps, thanks.
