Sunfire TGA-7400 7 channel X 400W per channel amplifier

This is a used, well-cared-for, one owner Sunfire Theater Grand Amplifier 7400 (TGA7400).  It is cosmetically excellent.  The 8 rating is due to its age only.  This is a monster 7-channel, 400W per channel power amp, which was never short of power driving a 5-channel home theater and Zone 2 with 5 sets of impedance matched speakers. It includes RCA and XLR balanced inputs and both voltage-source and current-source outputs for the front left and front right speakers. It also has auto-on signal sensing as well as 12 VDC triggers.

Per the manual:

The TGA-7400 can produce 400W RMS per channel into 8 ohms, and 800W RMS per channel into 4 ohms.  The big breakthrough is the uncanny tracking
downconverter, which uses 18 Herculean Mosfets. This allows the amplifier to produce phenomenal power output without the heat generated by conventional designs.

The circuit boards are heavy glass epoxy, double sided, with Faraday shield on the back side.  All resistors in the signal path are 1% tolerance, metal film.  Critical
capacitors are film devices with high dielectric strength and ultra low absorption characteristics.  An enormous power source built around a massive power transformer provides the ultimate muscle for limitless dynamics.

Includes 2 kinds of outputs for the front left and front right channels: 1) a standard voltage-source, and 2) a higher impedance current source, which many prefer for electrostatic, planar magnetic or ribbon speakers.  Or you can biwire your system with the voltage source driving the woofers and the current source driving the upper part of the system.

The unit was bought in 2006 directly from Sunfire and I am only owner.  Original box and manual are included.

Given the age of the box, I recommend double boxing for shipment. The dimensions and weight include an estimate of the over-pack box.
