Niteshade Audio Beacon Two tube preamp for sale. This is an extremely transparent and musical 6SN7 tube preamp. It is a great bargain at its price, and a great way to get into tube amplification. I was drawn to it by its design as a simple and transparent circuit. I've paired this with both solid-state and tube power amps with good results. See the reviews on AudioCircle.

Along with the preamp I am including a pair of (not quite "NOS" since I bought these used and have put a few hours on them) famous Sylvania 6SN7-GTB tubes -- these are black base with chrome top.

All Niteshade gear is designed to reduce the amount of components music has to travel through. Our designs are fast,quiet and accurate due to the lack of processing and exceptionally good power supply design. The Beacon Two is absolutely silent. There is zero hum, no hiss and plenty of drive for either tube or solid state amplifiers. While on tour, there was not a single amplifier that could not be driven easily.

People on the tour were impressed with the Two's speed, resolution and ability to raise low level details out of the murk that were not heard before. It is true that high resolution audio equipment will put your music in the spotlight and make a song heard several times before sound like a new song. I enjoy my Beacon Two as a home theater component since everything from a whisper to the most active scene is portrayed as it should be. A two channel system with good imaging will provide an enveloping sound field. The Two's speed makes it possible to enjoy a sound field that is panoramic, well projected and even shows vertical insights. Details found within a vertical field are typically related to how the preamplifier resolves how far a sound is from the microphone. As the sound gets closer, it becomes taller. The inability to resolve vertical resolution will make a passage sound smeared and displace other vocals or instruments within the foreground. A well defined sound field will have height, depth and width.

The Beacon Two is our best selling preamplifier. We took out time and put three years into research and development. I wanted a preamplifier that was extremely quiet, resolving and fast.
