The Prasound Halo A23 is a fantastic real world priced amp packing good power (125 into 8 ohms) and a long list of not normally seen features at this price point. Don’t believe me, read the many reviews, both professional and personal, that you can find online. An easy example, The Stereo Times Greg Petan (8 April 2003) reviewed the Halo P3/A21 combo and said:

“If I had to pick the real winner of the Halo line-up, it would have to be the A 23 Amplifier. Of the two, the amp, in comparison to the pre-amp, seemed to contribute the greatest strength while adding the least amount of distraction from the music. This amplifier packs a significant wallop, and does so while maintaining a good measure of soundstage composure and truth of timbre. The mid-range was fairly expressive, maintaining enough texture and color, even when the dynamic demands increased. This is no small feat when you consider that other components that live in this price range, particularly integrated amps and receivers, typically fall to pieces when the music's dynamics get rough.”

The A23 has a clean, clear sound with a nice note of warmth and no solid-state hash often found at this level - as expected given the legendary John Curl design. Additionally, it offers all the connections anyone could want (both balanced and unbalanced), can be bridged to mono (I’ve tried this and it really brings out the positives of this amp), is THX certified with independent right/left gain control, has ground lift if needed, and can be 12v triggered.

This unit works perfectly and is in good shape, though it does have some small scratches on the top left and right edge of the faceplate - see pictures for details. Also, I'm not the first owner so I've been conservative/very accurate with my rating.

Why am I selling?...I simply have more gear than I’m using and this great amp deserves to be put back to work.
