This gem was completely recapped and upgraded in March by Avatar Engineering. The power supply capacitance was increased from 10,000uf to 15,000uf along with ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers. The tubes were also replaced with Audible Illusion supplied Russian 6922 matched tubes. This unit performs at the same level or better than a new (3B)! A wonderful upgrade from Audio Research or Conrad Johnson with the exception of their $20K+ reference preamps. The most amazing option in this preamp is the John Curl designed Moving Coil Gold phono boards which do outperform most megabuck phono preamps! Amazing true reference level sound! Like new condition. Latest version with the stepped attenuators! Buyer to assume shipping ,insurance and Paypal fees. All reasonable offers will be graciously responded to.
