Audio Research PH-3 SE

I purchased this phono pre from a fellow Audiogon member less than a year ago.  My system was entirely tube components.   Upon updating my turntable and cartridge i found that there was not enough gain from this pre-amp.  54db is plenty,  just not for a very low output moving coil cartridge, .5mV or less.   So i updated my phono stage.   If you are using a HO MC this pre-amp sings.  I installed 3 new Gold Lion 6922 tubes that are matched and were burned in by TubeDepot.  They have less than 50 hours on them and cost $160.  The are included in the sale.  You will see from the pics posted that the tube boxes look bulged,  thats due to the tube rings that would not come off the tubes, so i boxed them with the rings still on.  I felt it was safer than trying to pull the rings off with force.     I have also installed the resistor for 390 ohms as you will see in the pics with my philips screwdriver pointed to it.   If you wanted to go back to 47k loading , all you have to do is snip the silver wire.  I do not have the original box, but the unit will be packed very well and insured.  The owners manual is available online for free from ARC in PDF form.    At my listing price, which is very fair, I will cover the PayPal fee and the shipping to the lower 48.  No international shipping.    I am rating this a 8.  I am hard pressed to find any scratches or marks on the unit.   Any questions feel free to ask.  My price is firm, since it is fair.  With the cost of the new tubes and the PayPal and shipping, there really isn't any reason to lower the price.    Thanks for looking.
