The Linn Kisto is an advanced Audio/Video System Controller. It is usually set up by a Linn dealer, BUT any Audiophile/Videophile can do it with a Sunday afternoon and a little patience. There are in fact two manuals, with only the basic menu supplied to the User, and the deeper menu supplied to the Installer. I have both, and will include them in this sale. But once its set up, it is much easier to use than most System Controllers. So advanced is the Kisto, it might as well have arrived from outer space for what five or six years of AV evolution demand of such a product. So much is required of a contemporary pre-pro that keeping it simple, if only on the surface, seems almost impossible.

The Linn engineers developed the software, which is easily upgraded. They also designed all of the internal circuitry, which is compactly laid out on 11 circuit boards in a modular, three-tier design and features more than 6000 individual components. That's right....6,000. Compared to the scale and weight of most state-of-the-art pre-pros, the Kisto is miraculously small and lightweight. But don't let its size, its 16.5 pounds, or its external simplicity fool you: the Kisto is packed with features, while aiming for both top-shelf AV performance and the utmost in custom-installation flexibility. The Audio section is as good as any audio section built by Linn in a stand alone device, same with the video. Linn doesn't make the Kisto anymore because it was simply too expensive to produce, given the number of parts, system tuning and user expectations of this device. It is awesome. (We are moving to a smaller house and I am getting rid of some equipment I won't ultimately have space to set up and use it to the fullest of its capabilities).
