If you’re looking for a top notch DAC/amp/preamp unit, this is about as good as it gets. The added flexibility of battery power means you can make this a transportable setup and bring your high end headphones out on the porch or the balcony with no hassle at all.

This Red Wine Audio Isabellina HPA has been upgraded with two options from the website plus a special customized option for the pre-out.

1. Balanced headphone stage as found on the Audeze edition amp. (5 watts into 32 ohm.) there’s a 4 pin female XLR jack. ($500 option). This is the same amp found in the very well reviewed “Audeze edition” Isabellina. So if you have an LCD-2, this system should make it shine. I have used this with an HD800 and it has been a great synergy. It really brings it to life and adds a touch of warmth to the sound.

2. 24 bit “Pro” DAC. A flip of a switch allows you to choose between the original 16 bit NOS DAC or this 24 bit DAC. all your 24 bit music files will play without any conversion to 16 bit. ($500 option)

3. Due to the wiring of the balanced headphone out, RWA added a switch on the back of the unit to turn on or off the pre-out RCA jacks. So you can choose to have them on even while your headphones are plugged in. The pre-out lines are variable and their volume is controlled via the main volume knob

I am also including an upgrade Gold Lion 6922 Gold Pin Super Cryo tube in the tube stage (you will still get the stock JJ tube)

BONUS: 4 pin XLR to Single Ended (female) adapter. This adapter from Double Helix cables has a male 4 pin connection to connect to the amp and female 1/4” connection to attach your single ended headphone. You can use this to connect any headphone to the amp, even if it’s not balanced. Note that you would not be running the headphone in a balanced config with this cable but you still get the benefit of a great amp stage and the top notch DAC. Plus you can test out single ended headphones with having to get them recabled or reterminated (90 dollar value)

the total cost of this unit with these options, brand new, is $3600. My unit is only a few months old, in excellent condition and can save you some serious coin on an excellent system, if you are interested.
