The Sansui AU-717 is one of Sansui’s legendary integrated amplifiers that is still highly sought after today. This model is rated at 85 watts per channel with amazingly low distortion 0.025%, and has a solid damping factor of 60!. Sansui over-engineered these units to the point that they regularly produce power that significantly exceeds this rating (this model usually measures at about 100 watts per channel). The AU-717 produces beautifully clean audio because it was engineered with a sharp attention to detail, the highest quality components, and hand-crafted workmanship.
The AU-717 was a huge success for Sansui which sold thousands of these. It was engineered with highly flexible features such as capability for two sets of speakers, auxiliary input, subsonic and high filters, audio muting, and bass and treble with selectable crossover points. The AU-717 also has preamp-out and main-in jacks so that it can be used as a preamp or a power amp in addition to an integrated amp. A subwoofer can also be driven off the preamp-outs.
