Adcom GFA-5802, serial #A821DB 05720, with factory box, manual, and detachable power cord.

Classic Nelson Pass designed low distortion, high power, load tolerant amp that operates in pure class A to 10 watts. 16 MOSFET output devices per channel produce a rated 300/450 watts continuous into 8/4 ohms, but Stereophile's John Atkinson tested it to deliver +362 watts into 8 ohms; +583 watts into 4 ohms; and 900 watts into 2 ohms, all at 1% THD (Vol. 21, No. 4; see attached photo for test results).

Needless to say, there is nothing this won't drive to absurd levels.

Perfect operationally and almost mint cosmetically. I'm rating this a conservative 7/10 for the following reasons:

1. Some time last year I opened the top cover to blow dust out and I foolishly dropped/lost 4 of the screws. Having said that, there are 18 (!) total screws so the 14 remaining hold the top cover firmly in place (can't budge it at all). Completely unnoticeable but if it really bothers you, you can probably find 4 replacement screws.

2. One very tiny scratch on the top right edge of the faceplate (attempted to show in photo #4).

3. One of the rubber grommets on the left side rack mount holes is missing, see bottom of photo #8 (this has obviously never been rack mounted).

4. Slight fingerprint type fog on gold power switch cover plate and faded lettering on back panel, both very common issues for the 5802.

Other than this, I would have rated it 9/10. Straight, pure black heatsinks and no dings, dents, or stains.

So, if you can live with the tiny imperfections you can have an amp that was designed to compete with Levinson and Krell for a tiny fraction of what those beasts would cost you. I think price is very fair for condition and packaging. PayPal please add 3%. You may read my feedback to be assured of a smooth deal.
