If you are expanding your system from stereo to home theater, you may be looking for a quality monoblock to serve as your center channel amp. The Bryston PowerPac 120 fits the bill. It is very musical with quiet background, low distortion, and clean power. Not only is movie and TV dialog rendered clearly, but music recorded in in 5.1 channel surround is glorious.
The amp is designed with ears for mounting vertically to the back of a speaker, making it "active". I installed four rubber feet (easily removed) on it so it could sit flat on the floor behind the speaker. This dependable little guy has been driving a Martin Logan Logos center channel speaker (also for sale; see my other ad.) Reason for selling: I recently changed speakers and have upgraded to a more powerful amplifier (McIntosh).
