Clayton Audio M300 Class A Monoblock Amplifiers - Custom (Reduced)

Big price drop. Asking below all historical sales I could find for these rare amps. Keep in mind these have Wilson's upgrade and include custom amp stands. You won't find this level of Class A power for less! For sale are a pair of Clayton Audio M300 monoblock amplifiers. 300w 8 ohms / 600w 4 ohms of pure Class A power. The M300 are a fully balanced push/pull design employing premium milspec components, Sprague/Vishay caps, custom wound transformers, all silver internal wiring, and crystal glass substrate circuit boards with pure silver traces (no other manufacturer I'm aware of does this). All packaged in a unique, relatively compact design based on Wilson Shen's experience building mainframe power supplies for IBM. Speaking of the smaller M70 Claytons, Doug Blackburn of Soundstage said: "I think these are among the very best sounding amplifiers available at any price." See some reviews of the stock M300 below: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue40/clayton_m300.htm http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue42/clayton_m300.htm In June 2014 Wilson agreed to completely rebuild the power supplies for me which increased the capacitor banks to 200,000uf and the transformers to 2kVA (2 x 1kVA) per channel for an additional cost of $3240 (see before and after pic of the power supply). With this upgrade the amps gained even more low-end authority and slam. Wilson claimed the amps should also better handle 2 ohm loads. In addition to the power supply upgrade, the binding posts were upgraded to WBT 0710Ag Nextgen Silver, the IEC inlet to Furutech AC-1501(R) Rhodium, and the XLR inputs to Neutrik with silver contacts. Note that at the same time I had a XLR ground lift switch installed similar to what many other amps (Soulution, Parasound, etc) have for eliminating ground loop hum if present in your setup. Also included in the sale are the Sound Anchor stands pictured. I simply removed the stock feet from under the Claytons and set on top of sorbothane pads on the stands with great results. Just pay for the extra shipping for the stands and they're yours. Condition of the amps are good. There is 1 light scratch at the rear of one of the amps near the binding posts, and 3 small scratches on the right rear of the other amp (both pictured).
