Designed by Michael Bladelius, the Forte 4 is a giant-killer, capable of outputting 16-amps continuous and 50-amps peak current. Nimble overall, sweet in the midrange and taut in the bass, it uses IGBT’s (insulated-gate bipolar transistors) for amplification. Mine is sonically perfect. Upgrades and parts, should they be wanted, are available from Jon Soderberg, specialist in Threshold and Forte. http://www.vintageamprepair.net/ This is a very clean, conservatively rated grade 7 unit, never rack-mounted or opened for service. There are some light smudges around the power switch, whie the face plate and top have just a few very slight nicks. The side fins and back are near-mint. No pitting anywhere; all lettering completely intact. I am the original owner – May 1993.
