70 wpc amp with remote and high quality built-in DAC. Very smooth and natural sounding. with well-defined imaging. Used it with both the balanced and unbalanced inputs with excellent results. Used sparingly in a second system and rated a very conservative 8 due to age and two small losses of paint on the back corners of the top of the metal enclosure. Can't find a blemish anyplace else. Sent it to Hegel's recommended service center for a check-up and it received a clean bill of health. Overall an excellent core for a cost-effective high-end system
