Hegeman HAPI 2 RARE in this conditions

This vintage preamp represent what was considered THE preamp reference till the late 90’s by companies like Cello, for its extended and natural sound.

It’s extremely rare to find one in this great conditions, both functionally and cosmetically, with its original box as well.

All controls are fully silent when turned and except cabinet wear on the top lid the preamp seems like it is produce in these years instead of 1983 (see pictures)

Its designer Stu Hegeman designedsome of HK Citation tube amps which still goes for 2000 USD when found. This Hegeman solid-state preamp dates to about 1983, and as said sounds great except a small hiss on highs (at the magnitute of a tube pre).

It includes a great phono stage but I could not test it as no turntable.

I can confirm no hum or strange sonic issues.

Capacitors tested and still have a fair amount of hours. You could recap it if you wish to keep it for the next 2 decades but I think till it works like its doing, better leave it in original conditions if you want to hear it exactly like it was intended to sound.

This is marked for 220V but it is the European 230 Volts version with the pictured plug. It does not have a remowable cord so you might need to replace this if you have a different standard. I heard it can be easily rewired for 110Volts, but cannot certify this.
