This is an "all-in-one" package for the audiophile who wants to keep his hifi setup simple without sacrificing on sound. All it needs is a source component, a pair of speakers and you are good to go. With the Nova, it has an onboard DAC (24/96 upsampling) where you can hook up five digital sources, three pairs of analog inputs and two pairs of preouts where you can add a power amplifier for more power (if you desire) or subwoofer. We never really had the need to add a power amp since its available 80W per channel was more than sufficient in our pairing with various speakers. Add the tube component (6922 tube) in its preamp stage and the Nova actually sounded really good with a nice warm, smooth sound. You could switch that out if you want a slightly tighter, sharper sound. The difference is really marginal so we left the tube stage "live" in our listening sessions.

Cosmetically, the unit is in nice shape. Some scuff marks/scratches from use (mainly on the acrylic cover). Remote is included (a bit scrappy but works fine) and unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
