Parasound HCA-1000 2-ch (or Mono) Amp

The Parasound HCA-1000 is a two-channel, Class A/B design rated at 100 watts per
channel. I purchased it new in 1996, used it off and on for a few years and since
then has since sat pretty much idle for the subsequent years.

This amp is pretty flexible since it has (1) rear-mounted channel volume pots(2) and(2) is
bridgeable to become a 200 watt mono amp and (3) It is THX rated.

The amplifier looks and performs well. Since Parasound is known for sturdy,
cost-effective products that essentially contribute no "sound" of
their own, there's not much more to be said.

I will include an early Sensible Sound reviewer's write-up along with the original
manual (He concludes "Very Highly Recommended!"). He also
specifically comments on "the snap and tight bass revealed during the
audition".

I used it off and on over the years as a subwoofer amp and as a 2-ch amp for my remote
outdoor speakers.

Please note my other listing for a VMPS passive sub ($175) amp which would mate well with this amplifier.

I'm selling this "As Is" because costs of shipping could come close to the cost
of the amp itself. However, I value my reputation on A'gon and will of course
honor legitimate concerns if it proves other than as advertized.
