Primare P30 near state of the art preamp

Primare P30 preamp/processor that functions as a near state of the art preamp. It works perfectly and includes the original box and remote. It will compete with any preamp under $5000 and give a few more above
that range a run for their money - no kidding here. What follows are a

I own a Primare P30 pre/pro to go with my 2-channel system. I've compared it side-by-side to the fairly highly rated Ayre k3-x pre-amp. The P30 was much more transparent and detailed than the k3-x. The k3-x was a bit more musical and sweet sounding but I believe the K3-X had much coloration that resulted in that sweet sound. For whatever it's worth, the K3 was rated Class A by Stereophile about a year ago. The K3-X is an upgraded and sonically superior version of the original K3 again according to Stereophile mag.

The P30 has a by-pass mode that provides 100% analog for 2-channel music. I've also compared the P30 in-home to the Conrad-Johnson PV-14 pre-amp and Electropaniet's pre-amp. There was no comparison. The P30 was clearly superior sonically.

Primare is a little-known Swedish company and the unit retails for about $4k. The P30 is among the cheaper components in my system (my 2-ch. amp retails for $7k, my speakers for $8,700, and my 2-ch. SACD/CD player for $5k) and I have been extremely satisfied with it's performance.

For sale is my Primare P30 pre-processor that I've owned for years. Primare has been around for decades and the P30 is a music first approach to Home Theater and unlike many pre/procecessors, excells in musicality. How musical you might ask? I've owned or auditioned maybe 15 preamps over the past 12 years ranging in price from $800 to $10,000. Including but not limited to the Ayre K3-x ($3.5k), Pass Labs X-1 ($6k) and Pass Labs X2.5 ($4k), Chapter Preface ($10k), Placette Active Linestage (twice and $4k), Conrad Johnson ($2k), Electrocompaniet ($2k), Nuforce ($800), and others.

The P30 was easily more musical than some of the above and matched the best of the above. Since the P30's performance matched or exceeded all of the above and because the P30's egonomics were always superior, I stayed with the P30 over all the others.
