The W8 is Simaudio’s just prior statement amplifier and one listen confirms the word “statement”. I’ve owned many, many amps over my years in this hobby and this gem is hands down the best sounding. It had phenomenal BASS – tight, fast (on a dime) and taught. It puts out 250 watts at 8 ohm or 500 at 4 so, it can drive the most stubborn speakers with ease and authority. It sounds as good as you’re willing to spend (or have) to meet it capacity to please you. Just a masterful and magic beastie that will make your speakers come alive or disappear (room issues you may or may not have).

I know some buyers are put off with amps offering more than say 150 watts but, it never hurts to have a deeper well to draw from and I can confirm from experience that having that reserve makes complex passages much less congested and instruments better defined in their own space, plus room for nuance and tonality. For this particular amp, add the bottom end muscle and, it’s the complete package to satisfy any more amp wonder lust. Finally, anyone who knows amp and knows Simaudio in particular will confirm that this is amongst the finest still out there in the market.

This amp has 2 rear binding posts and both RCA/XLR inputs.
