This is a Bob Carver Sunfire Stereo Amplifier, a 300 watt per channel powerhouse. Bob Carver graces all Sunfire amps with his patented Tracking Down-converter power supply which produces unparalleled power levels into astonishingly low impedance loads while running cool. Electrostatic/planar type speakers like Martin Logan or Magnepans can dip as low as one ohm while most dynamic loudspeakers typically range from four to eight ohms impedance. This Bob Carver Sunfire Stereo Amplifier can power them all with ease.

 Features and Specifications:

This amplifier is 300 watts RMS continuous - per channel - into eight ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz with no more than 0.5% T.H.D. 600 watts rms per channel into four ohms 1,200 watts rms per channel into two ohms - time limited basis 2,400 watts rms per channel into one ohm - time limited basis Patented "Tracking Down-converter" power supply

Two output options:

Current source for a warmer, more open tube like sound or voltage source for all the tight response this awesome solid state amplifier can deliver. Intrinsic frequency response 1Hz to 80kHz, Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, High quality five way binding posts. This is a fairly large amplifier measuring dimensions: 19" wide, 6.5" high, 15.75" deep and has the heft to match.

Bi-wiring your speakers with the current source output driving the tweeter and the voltage source driving the low frequency woofers (per Bob Carver's recommendations) achieves a very nice natural sound yet with lots of bass control. Perfect especially for mp3 audio or other compressed audio, if listening to vinyl I would probably recommend using voltage connections only, but the choice is yours and you can play with connections to get the perfect sound for yourself, system and environment. This amplifier will handle hard to drive speaker loads with ease, never ran hot and will always perform excellent. I am the original first owner of this amplifier and with its age it is in great condition both cosmetically and operationally.

I removed the ground pin from the power cord to eliminate any noise or hum. This has no negative affect on sound or performance, it just works better. In addition, aftermarket footers are included.

These amplifier are becoming harder and harder to find on the used market. Its a good, solid, versatile amplifier, that sounds great. No original box or manual but I will double box for safe shipment.
