Sophia Electric 91-01 300B SET Monoblock Amplifiers

I purchased these new from Sophia/Washington Audio in February. In my system, this is the best 300B based amp I have used. It has more than enough output for my 93/db watt speakers. Although, I would like to explore 45, 2A3, and SE EL84 before I settle on one amp.

These amps are in the same condition as when they came out of the box, and the tubes have about 40 hours on them. If my asking price is met, I will include the Full Music 6SN7 tubes - the best tubes in this position, including several NOS I have tried. Otherwise, I will offer a slight discount and ship with the standard 6SN7s along with the other tubes that come standard with the amps.

I generally do not keep equipment for very long, as evidenced by my string of excellent feedback. For me, this is a journey to discover what is possible in the SET/P world. I could live with these amps for the long haul, but I am interested in trying amps using the other tubes from the SET family.

Here are a few highlights of things I have enjoyed about this amp: 1. These are very quiet for an SET amp. There is a hum pot for both the 300B and the 6SN7. I have had three other 300B amps that I could not tolerate due to noise. 2. These are high gain amps, and they need very little voltage to reach full output - I prefer transformer volume controls, and these have worked out great. 3. The owners of the company are great to work with - I really enjoyed my purchase experience for both this amp and the baby. It will be much easier to deal with any repairs down the road with a US based business. 4. The amps are a joy to listen to all types of music.
