Supratek Chenin Mk II

For sale is the Supratek Chenin II, AKA "Preamp of the century" as per the famous thread (and that being the 21st century). The Chenin is an artisan masterpiece that has had glowing reviews from all over the world and has an organic, natural tone- very reminiscent of Shindo equipment. It includes a world class MC phono stage and a separate power supply.
This is the MKIi- a much improved version of MKi (I was the owner of the MK1 model). It allows switching between transformer and caps coupling, changes of gain and impedance... so in effect the chenin can drive ANY power amp in existence - be it tube or SS. The power supply is that of the Cortese, a higher up model in the Supratek Line! My unit was made in 2010 and I bought it from a fellow Audiogoner. So basically it's a rather fresh new unit in as good as it gets. I rated it as 8/10, just because it is not new. Sorry for the reversed pictures...I did try to change it but probably don't know how. There are some minor scratches on the top plate but I dare you to find a Supratek unit that does not have one...
New units are $3500 before tax, shipment from Australia, tubes (see below) and at least 6months wait time...
Mine is the more desirable Jarrah wood finish.
A well-known tube technician had installed Mundorf caps and replaced the Alps potentiometer with Noble (no remote).
