Tannoy 615 full range floor speakers

For sale are Tannoy 615 speakers in excellent condition complete with owner's manuals, unregistered warranty cards,orig factory boxes and packing material. 300 watts max music handling capacity. Recommended amp power is 10 - 175 watts.Freq response 41 Hz to 30 KHz. Nominalimpedance 6 ohms. Min impedance 4 ohms.Sensitivity 92 dB. Crossover freq 400 Hz & 2.5 KHz. Terminals are gold plated and bi-wirable. Has 8" dual concentric mid-range and tulip wave guided tweeter; 8" Bass unit, 8" Mass tuned Passive Cone (MTPC) or Passive Radiator. Weight is 46.2 lbs each without box and packing material. Spikes and jumpers provided. Bass can be mass loaded with lead pellets or sand for enhanced bass response. Small foot print. Pentagonally shaped enclosure. The 615 model heads the SIXES series of Tannoy and were designed and manufactured in the mid 1990s. The high performance, low diffraction, low coloration that is provided by the unique cabinet design is exploited to the best advantage by the use of 8" dual concentric drive units with its moulded cone and its 30KHz "tulip" waveguide tweeter. This is augmented by an 8" Bass unit driver and an 8" Passive Radiator (called MTPC: Mass Tuned Passive Cone by Tannoy). Tannoy was founded in 1926. A Drive unit that can reproduce accurately the entire audio signal simply does not exist. Therefore multiple drive unit designs are adopted as a compromise. The problem here is that the treble and bass portions of a sound signal (a saxophone for example), are reproduced from different places on a conventional speaker design. With Tannoy's patented single point sound source design, the high freq driver shares the same chassis as the bass driver and the whole audio range is perceived as coming from the same point in space.....like the ideal drive unit, producing almost tactile and palpable stereo images of tremendous stability. Unique to the 615 is Tannoy's "Tulip" Waveguide tweeter, Molded Cone Piston technology, Bi-wiring technology and Differential Material technology. The 615 has high quality Van del Hul internal wiring,vented bass driver chassis that reduces thermal dynamic compression, high sensitivity of 92 db, is in black ash wood construction with very small foot print and easily blends with any modern decor, Hard wired high quality minimalist cross over network, cross braced driver/cabinet design and advanced cabinet structure. Purchased brand new, I am the original owner. Minimally used and wrapped in plastic and original factory boxes, these speakers have been in storage for a long time/ but function like brand new and will be tested prior to shipping.Asking $1500/ obo for pair.
