DESCRIPTION FOR SALE OF AN EXTINCT RARE HISTORICAL CROWN 1400 / 1424 Tube Reel to Reel (1/4") Tape Recorder for Collectors and Audiophile. As we may know, there are only 2 of these in the world although you can find hundreds of Crown 800 R2R tape recorders. Most pictures of Crown 1400 in the Crown museum are from this machine, the other from Mr. John in Canada with just only the front: museumofmagneticsoundrecording.org/ManufacturersCrown.html The machine was restored by Mr. Chuck Ziska and now is in perfect working conditions. The "duhless" capacitors in the preamps had been replaced with Sprague Vitamin Q, Black Beauty. If you also need an hi-end preamp that can compare to Marantz 7 tube, here it is. The 12AX7, 12AT7 tubes are Crown-Telefunken/ Mullard. The machine can play 14", 12.5", 10.5", 7" tapes. A pair of 14" reel to reel, Crown gold plated NAB HUB and rare remote control are included. If you want the wood cabinet, please pay additional $500 (including shipping cost). The Crown tube power amplifier in the pictures is NOT included in this listing.
